Artwork

Artwork often begins in quiet moments of contemplation. Maya Angelou once said, “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I’ve found this to be true in my own work. Many pieces begin as simple images that come to mind while I’m reflecting or resting, and over time they grow, change, or take on new meaning. I like to write these ideas down, sketch them, and let them develop at their own pace.

Some images appear whole and complete, while others begin as overlapping shapes, fragments, or small pieces that eventually fit together. This page is a place to share that process. Since creativity doesn’t always arrive in a single moment, I use this space to show progress as it unfolds. Some projects take months or even years to mature, while others come together quickly. As I work, I often jot down thoughts, adjust ideas, or start over entirely. Each step is part of the creative journey.

This section introduces my artwork from early concepts to finished pieces. You’ll find links to different parts of the WafflesJPG portfolio: color studies, creative projects, sketches, finished pieces, and a section for teaching materials, since my degree is in education. Color studies explore palettes and tones, creative projects show works in development, sketches reveal ideas still forming, and finished pieces are completed works ready for display.

As new artwork is completed, it will be added here for easy viewing. You’ll see experiments, developing ideas, and final images as the collection grows. I hope this space offers a glimpse into the creative process and the joy of watching an idea become something whole.
